The Coca-Cola Company has announced the election ofMonica Howard Douglas as senior vice president and general counsel.Douglas is a 17-yearveteran of the company who most recently servedas chief complianceofficer and associategeneral counsel for the North America operatingunit. In her new role,Douglas will oversee thecompany’s global legalfunction, reporting toChairman and CEOJames Quincey.Douglas joined Coca-Cola in 2004 as senior managing counsel. Shewent on to hold roles ofincreasing responsibility, including as legal directorfor Coca-Cola Southernand East Africa, beforebeing named generalcounsel for Coca-Cola
“Monica is an outstandinglegal leader who hasdeep experience working across our company and system,” Quincey said. “She will overseethe continued evolution of the legal function at the company while also serving as a valuedvoice in helping lead our overall business.” Prior to Coca-Cola, Douglas was an attorney with Equifax and an associate at Troutman Sanders LLP, now known as Troutman Pepper LLP, both in Atlanta.
