Jeff Ray | Executive Profile | ATLANTA TREND

Ventyx, an ABB company, announced on June 13 the appointment of Jeff Ray as chief executive officer, reporting directly to Jens Birgersson, head of ABB’s Network Management business unit. Ray brings to Ventyx more than 30 years of management experience in the global enterprise software industry. Ventyx is headquartered in Atlanta.

“Jeff is a talented leader with a strong track record of driving business growth,” said Birgersson. “His proven performance and expertise in managing global software businesses make him the ideal person to lead Ventyx to the next phase of its growth and leadership in the emerging market for industrial enterprise software.”

Ray joins Ventyx from Dassault Systèmes, a $2.4 billion software firm, where he served as executive vice president of geographic operations and was a member of the firm’s executive committee. In this role, he successfully created a new model for the company’s growth, which led to greater speed and agility across the business. Immediately prior, he served as CEO of SolidWorks, a global engineering software firm and division of Dassault Systèmes.

“Ventyx is uniquely positioned to lead the market taking shape around industrial software,” said Ray. “The convergence of Ventyx’s comprehensive portfolio of information technology (IT) with ABB’s world-leading operations technology (OT) solutions – all under one roof – has created a powerhouse combination that will underpin some of our customers’ most strategic initiatives.”

Added Ray, “Ventyx has a tremendous opportunity in this emerging software market. I’m excited to take the helm at such a critical juncture, and work with our talented team to take the business to its next stage of growth.”

Ray began his career at IBM, where he held various sales and management positions for more than 17 years. He has also held leadership positions at software companies such as Progress Software and Compuware Corporation, where he demonstrated a consistent track record of revenue and customer growth.

Ventyx, an ABB company, is a world-leading supplier of Industrial Enterprise Software for essential industries such as energy, mining and public infrastructure. Ventyx solutions bridge the gap between information technologies (IT) and operational technologies (OT), enabling clients to make faster, better-informed decisions in both daily operations and long-term planning strategies. Some of the world’s largest organizations rely on Ventyx solutions to minimize risk, enhance operational and financial performance, and execute the right strategies for the future.
